Holyoke Credit Union was organized in 1911 as a Massachusetts state-charted credit union to deliver a full range of consumer banking services. Today, we are chartered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and regulated by the Massachusetts Division of Banks. Throughout our 100-plus year history, we have been a financially strong and professionally managed credit union, making us a wise and prudent choice for those looking for stability and peace of mind.
Unlike a bank, Holyoke Credit Union is an association owned by its members and managed by a Board of Directors and a professional staff.
Our deposit accounts are fully insured for each and every member. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insures up to $250.000. The Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC) insures the excess amount over that without limit.
Our mission is to provide members with high quality, affordable financial products and services in a socially responsible manner. At the same time we strive to maintain the financial soundness of the institution, and to provide employees with gainful and secure employment. In the conduct of our business, we adhere to the highest ethical standards of the industry.
We have the highest respect for our roots in the communities we serve, and fully embrace our responsibility to work toward the greater good. We enthusiastically sponsor many worthwhile causes, both financially and with personal manpower consisting of management personnel and employees of Holyoke Credit Union. In short, our dedication does not stop with our members. Rather it extends deep within the community itself.
Membership in the Holyoke Credit Union is available by our Charter to anyone who lives or works in Hampden or Hampshire Counties in Massachusetts. To participate in membership, one needs to simply purchase a one-time, $25.00 refundable Membership Share.
