Direct Deposit

Holyoke Credit Union offers its members the convenience of having their paychecks, pension checks, and/or Social Security checks directly deposited into their checking or savings account. Having your funds directly deposited provides more immediate access to your funds and eliminates the time involved in making the deposit yourself.

Direct Deposit is Simple

To set up direct deposit of your paycheck, ask your employer if they offer the service and, if they do, simply complete the appropriate direct deposit form and submit as required. The same procedure would apply for Social Security or other government-issued checks. For checking account direct deposit, a voided check is generally needed. If you prefer, you may be able to allocate your money to more than one account. Ask your employer or Social Security representative for details. Typically, direct deposit takes one or two pay periods to begin.

Direct Deposit is Secure

In use for more than 30 years, direct deposit is a secure method of transferring funds. The process involves the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system used by credit unions, banks, and other financial institutions to regularly transmit and receive funds electronically. With no paper checks involved, the chance of lost or stolen checks, forgery or counterfeiting is nearly eliminated.

Direct Deposit is Convenient

Holyoke Credit Union Direct Deposit saves you time, while providing the satisfaction of knowing your money will be automatically deposited on a specified day and immediately available for your use. Keep in mind, too, that direct deposits are often sent to Holyoke Credit Union a day or two in advance, which means your money may be available a day earlier than your normal payday.
