2025 Holyoke Credit Union Scholarship Recipients

The Holyoke Credit Union Board of Directors would like to announce the winners of the 2025 Holyoke Credit Union Scholarships.

All applications were outstanding, and once again it was a difficult choice. Ms. Samantha Dean, Ms. Margaret Evans and Mr. Jack Loughrey were chosen to receive the scholarships.

Each recipient received $1000 to put toward college expenses.

Ms. Deane, daughter of Kristie Boutin of Agawam, will graduate from Agawam High School this June. Samantha is planning to attend Yale University in the fall, pursuing a career in law. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was Captain of the freshman and JV Girls’ Volleyball teams. Samantha participates is several community activities as well. She is a member of the Hampden County District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board, where she attends bi-weekly meetings to collaborate with other students from Hampden County to address societal issues. She was the Student Ambassador for the Griffin’s Friends Children’s Cancer Fund Color Run where she helped raise over $8.000. Samantha also serves as President of Best Buddies, where she organizes monthly events for those with intellectual and developmental disorders.

Ms. Evans, daughter of Laura and Christopher Evans of Holyoke, will graduate from South Hadley High School this month. Maggie is planning to pursue a career in nursing at Fairfield University in the fall. While in High School, Maggie worked as a middle school tutor, was on the student council as well as being a member of the girls’ varsity soccer team. Maggie also volunteered at Holyoke Medical Center in her free time. She is a member of the National Honor Society, serving as Vice President.

Mr. Loughrey, son of Mary Loughrey of Holyoke, will graduate from South Hadley High School this month. Jack is planning to attend Western New England College, majoring in business/finance studies. While in High School, Jack was captain of the varsity basketball team and team captain of varsity track and field. He volunteered at the Mater Dolorosa Elementary School in Holyoke, working with the school’s youth CYO basketball program and volunteering during school events. Jack is a member of the National Honor Society as well.

Holyoke Credit Union would like to congratulate the winners and wish them the best of luck in college and their future endeavors!
